Flood Call 318

Caller from a previous call about a hit-and-run called back after waiting on-hold. She said her car had been where it was parked for about three hours, and when she went to start it, it had been hit. The dispatcher said that they could not send an officer because they were all busy with the flood. She asked the caller to call back in the morning. A second call from the North Dakota National Guard reports that they have ten Humvees that can be used.

Law enforcement center, could you hold please?
Yeah, thank you.
Law enforcement center, could you hold please?
Sure.
Thank you.
Law enforcement center, could I help you?
Yeah, I just called about the hit and run.
Yeah, I lost you there.
What happened there?
I just hung up.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm just going to put you on hold, but just let me, I won't even put you on hold
this time because our phones are doing some weird stuff here, but did you see anything
or you just went out and you saw the damage?
I just went out and saw it.
There was a blue truck parked in front of me when I parked it.
Okay.
Okay.
How long has it been sitting out there?
Um.
Your car has been sitting out there?
No, just about three hours.
Okay.
We're not going to be able to send anybody right now because we're doing this evacuation
and the flood fighting.
Okay.
But if you could just call back probably in the morning and we could send somebody.
I don't live here.
I'm not going to be here in the morning.
Are you going to be in Grand Forks?
Yeah.
Okay, just call from where you're at.
All right.
Okay.
Thank you.
Law enforcement center?
Yes, this is Kevin Davis with the Guard.
We have 10 Humvees.
I know there's a request out there somewhere that you want Humvees.
Okay.
The problem is that the EOC is still down?
No, this is with the PD.
Okay.
They need them here?
Okay.
Yeah.
Well, what the deal is is that you got some policemen who want to go around and Humvee.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
And I need them.
All right.
Okay.
Never mind.
We're on the phone with the EOC now.
Okay.
