Halvor L. Halvorson was born in Henning, Minnesota, on August 15, 1881. He attended the University of Minnesota, but graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1902. After graduation, he practiced law in North Dakota. Halvorson was associated with numerous civic groups during his life, including the Minot Park Board, the Missouri States Committee, and the Tri-State Wheat Committee.
