Claudine Kenner was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1968. When she was three years old, her family moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota, where her father was born and raised and where he found work as a post office clerk. Claudine was a student at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, before and transferring to the University of North Dakota in 1988. She graduated from UND with a sociology degree in December 1990.

Scope and Contents: The Claudine Kenner Papers consist of three journals and an essay, "A Christmas Nightmare." Kenner wrote from September 1983 to July 1985. The writings began as assignments for a Devils Lake High School English class. Some of the entries were about assigned topics, while the rest were free writing.
