Administrative/Biographical History
John Harrington Cox was born in Illinois on May 27, 1863. He received degrees from Brown (Ph.B.), Harvard (M.A. and Ph.D.), and Ohio Wesleyan (Litt. D.). Cox served as a Professor of English Language and Literature at UND from 1901 until 1902. He then moved to the University of West Virginia in 1902, where he was a professor until 1934. He died in 1945.
