Series 1: Personal Materials

The first series contains biographical information, along with correspondence. There is correspondence from his mother, Emma Burdick, from his brother, Quentin Burdick, and also William Lemke, a prominent North Dakota politician. College documents, personal finance documents, organizational materials, and a print-out of Burdick's personal website are also included in this series.

Sub-Series 3: Judicial System Committee

The Judicial System Committee was composed of legislators, judges and lay people to discuss rearrangement of the court system in North Dakota. They were instrumental in replacing country courts with a district court arrangement.

Sub-Series 4: Juvenile Court Advisory Council

Burdick served as a draftsman for the Juvenile Court Advisory Council. This organization was composed of judges and Public Welfare Board Representatives and met to discuss matters related to children and youth.
