Scope and Contents:
This collection is a typewritten report entitled "Report of the Lignite Fields on the W.D. Washburn Lands, and in their Vicinity, Located in Burleigh & McLean Counties, North Dakota." Two engineers from Columbus, Ohio, Frank A. Ray and R.M. Haseltine, wrote the report for E.C. Washburn of Bismarck in August 1900.
The document is lengthy and contains several large maps, as well as information regarding mining production, thermal levels and water table levels.
