Administrative/Biographical History
Grand Forks has had a city band beginning about 1886. In 1918, prompted by leaders of the Grand Forks Commercial Club, the band was formally organized as the Grand Forks Municipal Band. It presented a centennial concert at University Park in 1985 and remains an active group with summer concerts usually held at the pavilion at the Grand Forks County Historical Society.
