Administrative/Biographical History
The Grand Forks Community Art Association was founded in 1982 as an "organization for amateur and professional artists who produce original works in any media." The association sponsored numerous events and exhibits, one of which was the "Grand Forks Annual," which took place in the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Two other festivals that the association was involved with were Summerthing and Winterthing, both of which took place annually.

Scope and Contents: The Grand Forks Community Art Association Records consist of their constitution and by-laws, membership roster, meeting minutes, newsletters and newspaper clippings, as well as correspondence. Also included are the organization’s workshops, exhibits, art shows, and advertisements. The collection contains many financial records, which include sponsor lists, purchase records, bank statements and check carbons, nontaxable records, tax statements, and insurance policies. The materials date from 1982-1999.
