Administrative/Biographical History
Organized in January 1966, the North Dakota China Painters Guild promotes the fine art of china painting in all aspects. Guild members do this through individual and group effort by exchanging knowledge, ideas, experiences, and painting methods, as well as inspiring confidence in members. Most members come from eastern North Dakota. Each year the Guild holds a china show and the proceeds from these annual events are used to finance lessons and/or seminars taught by professionals once a month.

Scope and Contents: The records of the North Dakota China Painters Guild Records consist of meeting minutes, articles of incorporation and bylaws, program booklets, organizational information on china shows, grant information, and newspaper clippings. There are also two scrapbooks. The first scrapbook contains memorabilia related to the Guild, 1950s-1980s, while the second has similar content, 1986-1993. Two photographs of thimbles painted for the North Dakota General Federation of Women's Clubs are also included.
