Hampden Implement Company Records, 1903-1939
The Hampden Implement Records are divided into three series:
SERIES I: Correspondence
This series, 1905-1926, includes correspondence and other materials related to the ordering of equipment and the business transactions of the Hampden Implement Company. The major correspondent is M.A. Knutson, the president of the firm. The correspondence is arranged in reverse chronological order, and then alphabetically by name of the correspondent (Boxes 1-3).
SERIES II: Business Operations
Included in this series are miscellaneous bills and invoices and complete inventories, 1931-1939. Also included are company catalogs and price lists from various suppliers and manufacturers, 1907-1910 as well as 1922. The catalogs are particularly valuable for a history of agricultural implements in the period (Boxes 4-5)
SERIES III: Bound Financial Ledgers
This series consists of three groups of financial records: Company Account Books deal with records of financial transactions between the Hampden Implement Company and specific accounts, 1905-1912. Daily Ledger Books indicate business transactions for individual days, 1903-1916. Miscellaneous ledgers include a cash ledger book (1905-1908), a payment due ledger book (1905-1907) and a bills receivable ledger book (1903-1905).
