Administrative/Biographical History
The Brenna Homemakers Club began in June 1929 in Grand Forks County. Mrs. M.E. Hanson was the president with Mrs. Hilmer Lien as vice-president and Mrs. M.B. Berthenson as secretary. The Brenna club began with fifteen members. Monthly meetings would usually consist of members giving demonstrations or lessons on topics related to food preparation, home management, and clothing. The club was one of many that were active in Grand Forks County during this time and functioned, in part, as a social network for farm women. It has not been determined when the organization disbanded.
