Administrative/Biographical History
Lydia Weisser was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on March 27, 1905. She married Ralph E. Topping in Crookston, Minnesota, on December 7, 1927. The couple had three children: Lawrence, Gerald and Elaine. They lived in Grand Forks until the family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota, in 1945. Lydia was employed as a merchandising coordinator for the state of Minnesota, a position she held for 32 years. Ralph Topping died in 1961, while Lydia Topping died on December 25, 1976, in Bemidji.

Scope and Contents: The collection consists of two scrapbooks compiled by Lydia Topping. Each scrapbook contains news clippings, announcements, photographs, programs, letters, postcards, cartoons, invitations and memorabilia concerning the people and events of both Grand Forks and Clearwater County, Minnesota, from 1938 to 1943.
