Collection Historical Note
"Agnes M. Plath began collecting stamps when she was a home economics and music teacher in New England, ND. in 1936.
Born and raised in Park River, she graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1934. Following her marriage to Bill Plath, they moved to Davenport where she has lived since 1941. During the past 48 years she has been active in church activities, community affairs, 4-H and Extension, county and state Farm Bureau, state and national Angus Auxiliary, Cattlewomen and the historical society.
The Plath family has been active in the North Dakota Farm Bureau for years. The late Bill Plath was a board member of the Farm Bureau.
Their daughter, Marion Plath Peterson, has been Moron County Farm Bureau secretary, and both she and her husband, Jan, have been active in the Morton County Farm Bureau. Ron Plath , Agnes and Bill's son, is on the Cass County Farm Bureau Board. Daughter Beryl Plath Rourke and her husband Gary, have been active in the Cavalier Farm Bureau, and Gary has been employed by the North Dakota Farm Bureau."
