Esther Bice was likely born near Paris, Iowa (Linn County), on February 11, 1880. She is listed in the 1895 Iowa State Census as residing in Linn County, and most likely married Perry Moles around 1908 or 1909. The couple moved to Renville County, North Dakota, and took up residence in Eden Valley Township. The couple is listed as living in this township in both the United States Federal Census for 1920 and 1930. Perry Moles died in Renville County on June 17, 1936, and Esther later died in Ward County on October 23, 1957.

Subjects discussed include women's fashions, the social lives of Moles and her friends, and family events. Letters from several of her suitors are also included.
