Administrative/Biographical History
John Miller Anderson was born October 26, 1877, in Becker, Minnesota. He moved to North Dakota in 1896 and attended both Valley City State College and the University of North Dakota. He graduated from UND in 1906, after which he was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives. He served one term, from 1907 until 1908. A friend of William Lemke, Anderson later became president of the Equity Co-Operative Exchange. He died in Everett, Washington, in 1955.

Scope and Contents: The John Miller Anderson Papers mainly consist of correspondence from Anderson to Dr. Waldemar Westergaard, a professor of History at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA). Anderson and Westergaard were classmates at UND. Also included are three letters between Westergaard and Dr. Theodore Saloutos regarding research use of the Anderson correspondence.
