Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Webster Merrifield Papers, 1887-1917, consist primarily of Merrifield's correspondence while the third president of the University of North Dakota. Academics, facilities and grounds, promotion of the University, and announcements of upcoming conferences are among the subjects of the correspondence. Also included are biographical materials, as well as documents related to the John Macnie family.
