Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection contains four scrapbooks. The first scrapbook has a green cover and is titled "A History of the Grand Forks Woman's Club". This scrapbook, 1963-1968, contains mostly newspaper clippings regarding the club, as well as clippings about the North Dakota Federation of Woman's Clubs (NDFWC). This scrapbook also has correspondence, programs, photographs, certificates and ephemera.

The second scrapbook has a red cover and dates from 1963 to 1984. This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings and NDFWC information regarding officers and the national convention. There are also programs, photographs, and ephemera.

The third scrapbook has a white cover with the words "Grand Forks" printed on it. This scrapbook contains information about the 1978-1980 community improvement project for the Grand Forks Woman's Club. The club organized displays at the public library regarding "interesting subjects… to inform and entertain the public." Topics included University of North Dakota pottery, Tanzania, and Greece.

The last scrapbook, 1970-2005, has the words, "GFWC Unity in Diversity" printed on the cover. It has annual reports, newspaper clippings, and correspondence about the club. The correspondence included the club's resignation letter as well as the NDFWC's return letter accepting the resignation. Other newspaper clippings regarded the erection of the Sakakawea statue through the help of the NDFWC, as well as pamphlets about the 75th Anniversary of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs, and other state and national convention programs.

Also included in the collection are meeting minutes from 1992 to 2005, a financial ledger from 1979 to 2005, and a 2004 directory of the Greater Federation of Woman's Clubs.
