Anna Helen Nash's Day Book primarily contains the accounts of her working as a nurse from November of 1915 through May of 1918. In her diary she keeps accounts of the patients she worked for, and how much she was paid for assisting each patient. She also was sure to note when and how any of her patients died when such instances arose. She also kept tabs on the addresses of the other nurses she worked with. (Although the "diary" was written in an address book, the addresses she took note of are not necessarily placed in alphabetical order.) The first few pages are very brief accounts of what she had been doing at the time. The book becomes more "diary like" at the beginning of the "B" tab in the book.
A number of the pages have gone unused, so there are significant gaps in the book where there is no writing. Tabs: E, G, H, I, J, L, N, O, P, Q, R, T, U, V, Y, and Z have nothing in them. Also note that the book has no "X" tab, but there is a tab for "Mc." In the "Mc" tab there is a recipe for coffee cake and bread dough. The book has a number of misspellings most notably the word "died" which is often spelled "dyed."
