circa 1920-1925; 31 black and white photographs of various summer pow wows of the Devils Lake Sioux at Fort Totten

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Lloyd B. Stevens Photographic Collection consists of forty-two black and white photographs. These are undated, but appear to date from 1920-1925. Thirty-one of the photos depict various summer pow wows of the Spirit Lake Nation.

The remaining ten photographs depict Lloyd B. Stevens and friends on a 1925 wolf hunting expedition. Stevens submitted one of these photographs to the magazine Hunter Trader Trapper, which published it on the front cover of its January 1926 issue.
