Martin Ekdahl emigrated from Sweden around 1888. He eventually settled in Polk County, Minnesota. He married Emma Swanson, the foster daughter of P.E. Swanson. The couple had one child, William. Emma died in Polk County on 15 May 1922. William also died in Polk County on 5 March 1967. Martin Ekdahl preceded Emma in death at an unknown date.
