Brief Description:

The Lora Crouch Papers date from 1946-1969, and consist of material related to North Dakota author Vera Kelsey, who published Red River Runs North in 1951. Included are six letters written by Kelsey to Crouch, as well as one letter written by Crouch to a “Mrs. Pearce” regarding Kelsey's book. A newspaper clipping of Badger Clark, accompanied by a note by Crouch explaining that one of the characters in Red River Runs North was modeled after him, is also included.

Also included is one professional photograph of Vera Kelsey which was used by Harpers for several of Kelsey's books on the country of Brazil, as well as two snapshots of her: 1.) Color, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, fall 1946; 2.) Black and white, Cass Lake, Minnesota, summer 1949.
