Brief Description: The Earl Dalness Papers consist of documents received from the FBI via a Freedom of Information Act request filed by John Dalness, the son of Earl and Irene Dalness. The documents provide information on the Selma to Montgomery civil rights march in 1965. Dalness was the agent in charge of the FBI’s monitoring of this historic event. The documents mainly include FBI memoranda and reports regarding prominent individuals in the Civil Rights movement such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Reverend Ralph Abernathy, and Rabbi Abraham Hersch.
