Scope and Contents: The naturalization records from the United States Federal Courts, District of North Dakota, include Declaration of Intention, Naturalization Records and Petition and Record documents. Declaration of Intention (first papers) contain name, place and date of person wishing to become a citizen. Naturalization Records (second papers), which grant citizenship, contain name of applicant, country of origin, and date records were supplied. In 1906, the form was renamed "Petition and Record" and required greater detail in family and personal history.
