Administrative/Biographical History
The records of the University Religious Council begin in 1947, although the council is believed to have existed before that. The main purpose of this organization was to promote religion and religious life at the University of North Dakota. The council was made up of one representative from each religious group on campus and from the YMCA and YWCA. The group also supported all campus religious groups and their programs. A main activity of the organization was Religious Emphasis Week, which was an annual event from at least 1947 to 1966. In more recent years, it became known as the Campus Ministry Association.
