Information on Gunder Salverson from Norwegian Immigrants... by Gerhard Naeseth (see Folder 3) suggests he was known as Gunder Gundersen in America and served in the 15th Wisconsin during the Civil War. This is incorrect, however, since Gunder Gundersen was born in 1839 in Rogaland, Norway.
