Greenwood School District 10, also known as Turtle River, was organized in Turtle River Township, Grand Forks County, in 1879. It comprised much of the northern portion of the township and part of neighboring Walshville Township in Walsh County. There were about 40 pupils in the first school. At some point, a new school was built in Section 3 of Turtle River Township. In 1960, Greenwood School District 10 became part of the larger District 130.
